MOSCOW, Jul 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Customs Service sees no reason to strengthen control over Georgian goods, Head of the service Vladimir Bulavin told channel Rossiya 24 on Wednesday.
“No economic sanctions against Georgia, the Georgian business, have been introduced in the Russian Federation, there are no orders, so there are no grounds to raise control in the Georgian area,” Bulavin said.
On July 7, Georgian TV anchorman Georgy Gabunia began a show with invectives towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, the State Duma, Russian parliament’s lower chamber, recommended that the government consider economic sanctions against Georgia. State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russia can stop Georgian wine and water imports and prohibit money remittances.
